Profile

PURVIS provides engineering and professional technical services to the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial businesses. Core capabilities include communications and information systems. PURVIS also provides custom hardware/software services - from initial design through implementation and life cycle management. Other technical services include tactical development and evaluation (TAC D&E), test and evaluation (T&E) and 24/7 field services.

Thirty years of quality services and customer satisfaction have firmly established PURVIS as a small business alternative for a wide array of technical solutions.

PURVIS' first major contract was awarded by the U.S. Navy. Under this contract, PURVIS assisted in the specification and development of the TRIDENT Command and Control System at the Naval Underwater Systems Center (NUSC) (now called the Naval Undersea Warfare Center [NUWC]) in Newport, RI. In 1973, PURVIS was also awarded a contract with the DoD to develop a computerized system for testing small caliber ammunition for the U.S. Army.

PURVIS expanded its client base to municipal government in 1975 with a contract supporting the City of New York Fire Department (FDNY). This contract provided technical services for the design of a Computer Aided Dispatch System (CADS). Soon after, PURVIS was awarded an FDNY contract for technical assistance in the implementation of a citywide communications network.

It was in these early years that our reputation for providing quality services began. These successes were the cornerstone for the long-term engineering and technical services we have provided to NUWC and the FDNY - comprehensive, quality services that continue to this day. Other long-term customers include the Naval Surface Warfare Center, the Surface Warfare Development Group and various commercial establishments.
