Incident Management System as mandated by the Department of Homeland Security and Presidential Directive 5 (HSPD5) provide methodology to:

• Coordinate response and recovery
• Report

in an effective and efficient manner.

Why is an Incident Management System needed?

• Establish command through Incident Command System
• Determine incident priorities
• Develop on-site organizational structure
• Manages the response of an incident on scene
• Manage incident resources
• Coordinate all activities including outside agencies
• Develop Incident Action Plan
